In the last several years, when we have attended conferences hosted by our broker/dealer, Commonwealth Financial Network®, they have asked that we leave each host destination better than when we arrived.
With this in mind, Commonwealth finds a worthy charity near the conference that can use our help. This year, a substantial donation was made to Safe Harbor Boys Home in Jacksonville, Florida, a nonprofit organization with a mission to effect positive and permanent change in the lives of hurting boys. Since 1984, Safe Harbor has used waterfront and sailing vessels as the foundation of a unique residential, academic, and vocational education program for the boys.
Jack Bevilacqua and his wife, Judith, attended the conference on Amelia Island, Florida, in May and joined the "Giving Back" program. They spent time working together with this special organization to spruce up the facilities in order to make things more comfortable for everyone currently enrolled in the program—now and for years to come.
The Safe Harbor Boys Home caught the attention of the producers of the Hallmark Channel, which made a movie in 2009 with Treat Williams and Nancy Travis portraying Doug and Robbie Smith, the founders of Safe Harbor.
Commonwealth Financial Network and Capital Management Partners are honored to be in a position to help with the fine work done in the host community by the dedicated people of this organization.
